It might even be a good idea to have some sort of way to secure the sheets to each other so that there is no chance that they will come up while the baby is sleeping. Baby sheets can come loose and wrap around the baby’s neck or head and the child could suffocate. This is why it is absolutely essential to have the right size of sheet, and as a result used sheets probably are not a good idea. They may have been stretched out of shape and the elastic might not be as good as it once was.

Be Aware When Purchasing Special Cribs

There are many different sizes of baby sheets and some have to be hand or special made. Anything that goes in a bassinet must fit the tiny mattress securely and these might not be easy to find. Most baby sheets come in standard crib size, but when buying a special crib it is important to know how easy it will be to find sheets that will fit an odd shaped mattress. A child might not be in this size for very long, but in some cases they may be able to sleep in this size until age five. After that a twin will be needed, and of course, some more sheets.
